Overview

The Serengeti National Park is Tanzania's most iconic safari destination, covering 14,750 square kilometers of pristine wilderness. Its name, derived from the Maasai word "Siringet" means "endless plains" - a fitting description for this vast ecosystem that hosts the world's greatest wildlife spectacle.

Home to over 3 million large mammals, the Serengeti offers unparalleled wildlife viewing year-round. Whether you're witnessing the dramatic river crossings of the Great Migration, tracking lions through golden grasslands, or watching cheetahs hunt at dawn, the Serengeti delivers experiences that stay with you forever.

Best for: Migration crossings, predator action, clear skies

Calving Season (January - March)

Witness the circle of life as over 500,000 calves are born in the southern Serengeti. Predators are highly active, and the landscapes are lush and green.
